Цінники на малину та лохину лякають українців

In Ukraine, in August 2025, the prices of raspberries and blueberries reached record high levels, causing concern among consumers. Despite the seasonal peak of harvesting these berries, their prices continue to rise, and experts predict that this trend of increasing prices will persist in the near future.

Main Reasons for the Increase in Berry Prices

According to analyst Maksym Hopka from the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business, the primary reason for the sharp price increase is low yields caused by spring frosts. Additionally, the process of harvesting raspberries and blueberries requires manual labor, which significantly raises the costs of their cultivation.

“Moreover, raspberries and blueberries are harvested by hand, which increases the collection costs,” the expert explained.

Furthermore, the cost of producing berries is affected by rising prices of electricity, fuel, and fertilizers. The increase in resource costs inevitably impacts the final price for consumers. There is also a growing demand for frozen berries for export in the domestic market, which intensifies competitive pressure and further influences pricing policies.

What Are the Prices of Raspberries and Blueberries in Supermarkets

As of August 2025, the prices of berries in various retail chains vary significantly. In the “Silpo” supermarket, raspberries are offered starting at 359.10 UAH per kilogram, while blueberries start at 214 UAH/kg. ATB does not have fresh raspberries for sale, but discounted blueberries are priced at 189.95 UAH per kilogram. In the Varus chain, raspberries are sold for 369.90 UAH/kg, and blueberries for 199.90 UAH/kg with a discount.

Experts warn that under the conditions of sustained high production costs and active export of frozen berries, a significant decrease in prices for raspberries and blueberries should not be expected in the near future.
