In April 2026, the Ukrainian industry recorded positive dynamics for the first time in a long period. Production volumes increased by 1.2% compared to the same month of the previous year.

“As of the results for January-April 2026, the decline in industry has almost leveled off. If at the beginning of the year the indicator was -8.1%, it has now reduced to -0.4%.”
Leading Sectors and Production Dynamics
Among the main drivers of growth are enterprises in the extractive industry, which increased production volumes by 4%. The processing sector also demonstrated a positive trend, raising output by 1.3% year-on-year.
In contrast, the energy sector remains the most problematic part of the industrial complex. In the field of electricity, gas, and heat supply, a production decline of 14% was recorded in April 2026 compared to April 2025.
Labor Market Situation and Impact of External Factors
Despite serious challenges related to energy constraints, statistics indicate a gradual recovery of industrial activity and stabilization of key sectors of the economy. At the same time, enterprises are facing a severe labor shortage — this issue is currently more pressing than disruptions in electricity supply. Meanwhile, less than 5% of industrialists cite corruption or pressure from the state as the main obstacles to their operations.
