President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of developing arms exports as a sustainable source of economic strength for Ukraine. According to him, this will not only ensure national security but also strengthen the country’s international ties for the long term.

Development of the Defense Industry and Export Potential
During his evening address, Zelensky reported that he held a detailed and practical meeting regarding the current state and prospects of Ukrainian armaments. Issues were discussed concerning which weapon systems are critically necessary for the country’s defense in larger volumes, as well as which types of weapons can be exported to further strengthen Ukraine and expand cooperation with international partners.
“Today I held a detailed and very practical meeting regarding our armaments: what is specifically needed for our defense in Ukraine in larger volumes and what can be sent for export to further strengthen Ukraine, enhance our ties with the world – additionally and long-term. Arms export must become a long-term source of economic strength for Ukraine,” the head of state emphasized.
Preparing Changes and Cooperation with European Partners
The President stressed that all necessary details are currently being worked out to avoid delays in regulatory changes related to arms exports and the development of the defense industry. Zelensky also added that Ukraine is preparing for important meetings with key European partners, particularly regarding the strengthening of air defense systems.
It is noted that strengthening Ukraine’s position in the international arms market will not only contribute to economic growth but also help enhance strategic relations with other states.
