Reasons for Price Decline and Market Expectations

Georgiy Kukhaleyshvili, an analyst at the Milk Producers Association, emphasizes that the trend of decreasing purchase prices continues in Ukraine. The main factors contributing to this are the accumulation of finished product stocks in warehouses, as well as the import of inexpensive dairy products, which exert additional pressure on the domestic market.

Kukhaleyshvili also notes that after December 25, there is traditionally a lull in the dairy market due to a reduction in the export volumes of exchange goods and a decrease in the sales of dairy products in the domestic market during the holiday period. This leads to a decline in the profitability of butter and dry milk production in Ukraine.

“It is likely that low prices for raw milk may persist throughout the first quarter of 2026,” the analyst predicts.
