According to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, the workers in the road sector who were engaged in the restoration of highways were hit. They were providing transportation for the population, facilitating humanitarian deliveries, and supporting defense needs. The enemy drone struck directly at the site of the repair work, resulting in the loss of a dozen units of machinery.
“The enemy continues to deliberately attack civilians who perform their work every day and ensure the functioning of the country. Today, an enemy drone hit the site of road works. As a result of the attack, 10 units of road machinery were destroyed. Fortunately, the workers were not harmed.”
State of the road sector during the war
The Ministry emphasizes that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, dozens of road workers have been injured while performing their duties. Unfortunately, there have also been fatalities among representatives of this sector. Despite the constant danger, road work in Ukraine continues.
As of today, road services have already completed the main planned repairs on state highways. In particular, 14 million square meters of road surface have been restored.
