Google Introduces Guided Learning in Gemini: A New Competitor to ChatGPT’s Learning Mode

Google has unveiled an innovative feature called Guided Learning in its artificial intelligence Gemini, taking another step towards the advancement of educational technologies. Guided Learning is positioned as an intelligent tutor that accompanies users through the learning process, gradually explaining tasks and adapting responses to individual needs.

New Opportunities for Gemini Users

Developers emphasize that Guided Learning not only helps users obtain answers but also deepens their understanding of the learning material. The tool provides step-by-step explanations, utilizes images and videos to visualize complex processes, and offers interactive quizzes for self-assessment. According to Google, Guided Learning reveals not only the “what” but also the “why” and “how” – helping users understand the logic behind task execution.

“With Guided Learning, Google emphasizes adaptability, according to the company itself. Essentially, explanations are tailored to the user’s needs.”

Enhancing the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Education

The launch of Guided Learning occurred less than two weeks after the introduction of a similar educational feature in OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Both companies are striving to change the approach to using artificial intelligence in education: instead of merely providing answers, models are becoming tools for developing critical thinking and independent knowledge processing. Experts believe this will improve the perception of AI not as a “cheat machine” but as a full-fledged partner in the learning process.

The updated Gemini interface now automatically loads visual materials from YouTube and can also create study cards and guides based on uploaded files or test results. An important announcement was the introduction of a year-long free subscription to the Google AI Pro plan for students from the USA, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Brazil. The subscription includes access to tools such as Gemini 2.5 Pro, NotebookLM, Veo 3, Deep Research, and other modern AI-based solutions.

It was previously reported that Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the launch of the AI Factory project, which is also aimed at fostering innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
