Notaries will submit real estate rental data to the tax office online

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved changes to the procedure for notaries to inform tax authorities about the certification of real estate lease agreements. From now on, the entire data exchange process will transition to a digital format, which is expected to significantly simplify the procedure and ensure transparency.

New electronic procedure for notaries

According to the new rules, notaries are required to send information to the State Tax Service of Ukraine electronically on the same day the lease agreement is signed. To confirm authenticity, a qualified or enhanced electronic signature, created based on a qualified certificate, is used. The updated notification form includes a new mandatory detail — the registration number of the notary’s taxpayer identification card, which allows for precise identification of the document sender.

Update of the notification form and the real estate market

The notification form for real estate rental has been completely revised: it now contains separate data blocks about the notary, the landlord, the tenant, and the property itself. This structure will facilitate the automation of data processing in tax systems and help reduce the risk of errors.
