In Ukraine, there is a significant decrease in the price of new crop cabbage: over the past week, the average price for this vegetable has dropped by 38%. Experts attribute this price decline to a seasonal increase in supply, made possible by the stabilization of weather conditions following a period of intense rain, storms, and hail.

Seasonal Supply and Weather Impact
According to industry specialists, the main reason for the price drop is the increase in the volume of cabbage from the 2025 harvest. Producers note that due to increased humidity, the quality of cabbage is declining in some areas, which also affects pricing. As a result, farmers are offering new crop cabbage at a price ranging from 13 to 22 UAH per kilogram (equivalent to $0.31-0.53 per kilogram).
Despite the price drop, the vegetable is still on average three times more expensive than a year ago
Despite the significant decrease, cabbage remains three times more expensive compared to early June 2024, indicating that high price levels in the fruit and vegetable market are being maintained.
Cabbage Prices in Ukrainian Supermarkets
In large retail chains, there is also a noted decrease in cabbage prices due to ongoing promotions and discounts. In particular, in the Varus chain, this vegetable can be purchased for 29.90 UAH/kg, in Silpo the price is 34.80 UAH/kg, while in ATB cabbage is the cheapest at 19.89 UAH/kg. Prices vary significantly across different chains, giving consumers the opportunity to choose the most advantageous offers.
