Job Vacancies by Regions of Ukraine

Experts emphasize the asymmetrical situation regarding job vacancies in different regions of Ukraine. The largest increase in job offers is observed in the following regions:

  • Kirovohrad (+13% compared to March);
  • Chernihiv (+10%);
  • Volyn (+9%);
  • Odesa (+7%);
  • Khmelnytskyi (+6%).

At the same time, in frontline regions, the number of job offers has decreased. This applies to:

  • Kherson (-17%);
  • Donetsk (-4%);
  • Zaporizhzhia (-3%);
  • Sumy (-1%).

Trends in Job Categories

The categories leading in the number of vacancies are “Skilled Trades, Manufacturing” — 18,040 (+5% from March). The largest increase in vacancies was recorded in the category “Hospitality, Restaurant Business, Tourism” — 9,637, +14%. Among other leaders:

  • “Sales, Purchasing” — 12,018, +0.5%;
  • “Logistics, Warehousing, Foreign Economic Activity” — 10,445, +3%.

This is explained by the active preparation of businesses for the summer season. The number of job offers for dishwashers (+36%), bartenders (+18%), waiters, and housekeepers (+17%) has increased. Seasonal vacancies are also actively being posted, particularly for camp counselors, instructors, animators, and more.

Among the companies that hired the most employees last month, the leaders are:

  • “Aurora” — 1,218 vacancies;
  • “Fora” — 1,061;
  • “Nova Poshta” — 962;
  • “Silpo” — 883;
  • EVA — 855;
  • NOVUS — 845.

According to the study, the share of vacancies for newcomers this year has increased to 44% compared to 39% in 2024. Experts note that there is a shortage of personnel in the labor market. To address this situation, employers are willing to lower their requirements for candidates and invest in their training. For example, the number of vacancies for students has increased by 25%. At the same time, the share of remote job offers has only increased by 1%.
