Requirements for Obtaining the Title of “Mother-Heroine”

Since 2000, this honorary title has been awarded to women who have raised at least five children to the age of eight, including adopted children. It is important to demonstrate that the children were raised in proper conditions, received necessary education, medical care, and had the opportunity to develop their talents. The decision to award the title is made by competent authorities after reviewing all circumstances.

According to the rules, she must raise at least five children to the age of eight, and it is not necessary for them to be biological children – a child can also be adopted.

Financial Assistance, Social Leave, and Pension

After being awarded the title of “Mother-Heroine,” a woman receives a one-time financial assistance payment. In 2025, this amount is 30,280 UAH, which is equivalent to ten minimum living wages. It is important to note that working mother-heroines may receive additional payments from their employers, who have the right to incentivize such employees individually according to current legislation.

In addition to financial payments, other benefits are also provided. In particular, every woman with the title of “Mother-Heroine” is entitled to an additional social leave of 10 days if her child is under 15 years old.

Another important advantage for mother-heroines is the possibility of early retirement. If a woman has given birth to and raised five children by the age of six, she can apply for a pension at the age of 50, provided she has at least 15 years of insurance experience obtained through official employment.

Procedure for Applying for Payments for Mother-Heroines

To receive the one-time payment in 2025 (30,280 UAH), it is necessary to submit an application in the established form, along with a passport, tax identification number (RNOCPP), and a decree awarding the title. If the documents are submitted through a representative, a notarized power of attorney must be provided.

Documents can be submitted in person at any branch of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or the Administrative Services Center. It is also possible to submit the application by mail or online through the PFU portal or the “Diia” app. Residents of villages and towns have the option to contact the local council to organize payments.
