Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka, during the discussion “The Future of Ukraine-EU Trade Relations,” stated that Ukraine has all the capabilities to ensure predictability of trade flows to the European Union. He emphasized that this strategy would be more effective than the potential imposition of tariffs on Ukrainian agricultural products by the European Commission after the expiration of autonomous trade measures on June 5.

The discussion covered agreements between Kyiv and Brussels for 2023-2024 regarding regional control over the supply of grain products from Ukraine to five neighboring EU countries. A new system of export licenses implemented by Ukraine was also presented.
“We are listening to our partners’ concerns. We are convinced that we can ensure the predictability of trade flows from Ukraine to the EU better than any tariffs,” Kachka emphasized.
Kachka also noted that Ukraine implements a significant portion of the resources and goods necessary for agricultural production from the EU. Therefore, the products supplied by Ukraine have a European component and cannot become the subject of biased treatment. According to him, Ukraine serves as an important support for the EU farming community, as Ukrainian agricultural products help maintain price stability in the European market and address existing shortages.
