Record Drop in Remittances from Labor Migrants in Ukraine in February

The volume of private money transfers to Ukraine in February 2025 experienced a significant decline, decreasing by 17.3% to only 0.7 billion dollars. This data is provided by the National Bank of Ukraine.

The wages that Ukrainians receive from abroad decreased by 12.4%, while other remittances received through official channels fell by 20.5%. Overall, 17% fewer remittances were sent through official channels in February compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the volume of transfers through informal channels decreased by 17.7% compared to February 2024.

During January-February 2025, the total volume of money transfers decreased by 18.8%. In particular, net wages fell by 20.5%, while private transfers dropped by 16.6%. This indicates negative trends in the economy and the impact of external factors on the financial situation of citizens in Ukraine.
