The European Business Association (EBA) has initiated a proposal to the government regarding the restoration of operations at Mykolaiv Port. This will facilitate the evacuation of vessels that have been blocked since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Additionally, the EBA urges the government to take measures to ensure the safety of Kherson Port, which is crucial for restoring its functionality and integrating it into export processes.

Ensuring Security and Optimizing Exports
In its proposal, the association calls for strengthening the protection of port infrastructure to guarantee its stable operation even in the face of heightened security risks. It is also important to consider the possibility of safely clearing certain areas of the Black Sea waters and agricultural lands in the region.
Businesses propose optimizing the operation of maritime export routes, allowing vessels to wait in the ports of the Odesa region rather than only at the entrance to the Sulina Canal. These measures are expected to strengthen Ukraine’s position in global markets by reducing logistics costs and the insurance risks for shipowners.
Implementing these initiatives will help establish affordable food prices and promote the effective export of Ukrainian products.
