In 2025, the situation in the potato market in Ukraine is significantly better than last year. Experts note that there are currently no grounds for price increases, provided that weather conditions do not undergo significant changes.

Price Forecast and Yield
Serhiy Rybalka, a board member of the Ukrainian Potato Producers Association, noted that this year’s potato harvesting is progressing very actively. The yield has formed at 10-15% higher compared to last year, which has been made possible by an increase in the area under cultivation.
“There are no reasons for price increases. Unless there are any cataclysms, such as prolonged rains for three weeks or frosts down to 5-10°C – I see no prerequisites for potato prices to rise,” Rybalka reported.
According to Rybalka, this season there is also a high potato yield in European countries. This exerts additional pressure on the Ukrainian market, increasing competition and contributing to price stability in the domestic market.
Current Prices in Supermarkets
In autumn 2025, Ukrainian supermarkets are offering potatoes at the following prices:
- At the “Silpo” chain, a kilogram of pink potatoes costs 11 hryvnias.
- In Novus stores, white potatoes are sold for 14.99 hryvnias per kilogram.
- At ATB, a kilogram of potatoes can be purchased for 12.95 hryvnias.
In addition, the large harvest in Europe and active budget purchases, including for military needs, are creating additional supply in the market. A significant portion of these purchases is for Polish potatoes, which helps avoid shortages and maintain price stability for Ukrainian consumers.
