In 2025, the fruit harvest level in Ukraine will reach only 60% compared to pre-war figures. This was stated by the head of the association “UkrSadProm” Taras Minko, who noted that the storage facilities for fruits are currently only half full. According to him, consumers should not expect a return to the low prices that existed before 2022.

“The fruit harvest level in the 2025 season is about 60% compared to the pre-war period, and the fruit storage facilities are filled to 50%, so consumers should not expect the low fruit prices that were available before 2022,” said the head of the association “UkrSadProm” Taras Minko.
Impact of War and Economic Factors on the Industry
According to the expert, before the full-scale war with the Russian Federation, Ukrainian gardeners achieved high yields thanks to an intensive type of industrial gardening. However, since 2022, the situation has changed dramatically – some territories were occupied, and several fruit storage facilities and horticultural farms were destroyed. As a result, in 2022, agrarians were able to harvest only 30% of the grown crop, while in 2024 this figure increased to 60%.
Additional reasons for the increase in fruit prices include rising energy resource costs and a shortage of skilled labor. Before the war, members of the association “UkrSadProm” had the capacity to store 110,000–120,000 tons of fruits in refrigeration, but now only about 60% of these storage facilities remain.
Prospects for Fruit Processing Development
Despite the challenging situation in the industry, Taras Minko expressed confidence that in the coming years, fruit processing will actively develop in Ukraine. In his opinion, this will help maintain the profitability of gardening and create additional opportunities for the agricultural business.
