Average Salary in Ukraine Increased to 28,321 Hryvnias in February 2026

The average salary of employees in Ukraine reached 28,321 hryvnias in February 2026. This is an increase of 1.2% compared to January of the current year, when the average salary was 27,975 hryvnias.

Regional Salary Indicators

The highest average salary was recorded in Kyiv, where it amounts to 45,651 hryvnias. In second place is the Kyiv region with a figure of 29,077 hryvnias. Meanwhile, the lowest salaries are received by employees in the Kirovohrad region — 20,083 hryvnias, as well as in the Chernivtsi region — 20,460 hryvnias.

Situation in Various Sectors and Wage Arrears

The information technology and telecommunications sector leads among industries, with an average salary of 78,941 hryvnias, which is also an increase compared to January, when this figure was 76,905 hryvnias. At the same time, the lowest salaries are earned by workers in the arts, sports, entertainment, and recreation sectors — their average salary in February was 18,681 hryvnias compared to 13,822 hryvnias in January.

“According to the State Statistics Service, the highest salary levels were recorded in the capital – 45,651 UAH and the Kyiv region – 29,077 UAH. The lowest wage levels are in Kirovohrad region (20,083 UAH) and Chernivtsi region (20,460 UAH)”.

As of March 1, 2026, the wage arrears in the country reached 3.5 million hryvnias.

For comparison, in 2025, the average salary from which insurance contributions were paid and which is taken into account for pension calculations was 20,653 hryvnias.
