Growth of Official Employment for Ukrainians
Since the onset of the full-scale war in Ukraine in 2022, the number of officially employed Ukrainians in Poland has significantly increased. Legal employment allows Ukrainian citizens to benefit from social guarantees, the health insurance system, and to accumulate pension experience in Poland. This is an important aspect for those planning to stay in the country for an extended period and integrate into its society.
“The official employment of Ukrainians plays a key role in supporting the Polish economy and addressing the labor shortage.”
Poland Has Simplified Access to the Labor Market for Ukrainians
The Polish authorities have significantly simplified the employment procedure for refugees from Ukraine. The mandatory work permit has been abolished, and a digital platform for registration has been introduced, allowing for quick and convenient legalization of employment activities.
Ukrainian workers are actively engaged in various sectors of the Polish economy. In particular, they work in manufacturing, construction, logistics, agriculture, as well as in caregiving and service industries. In large cities such as Warsaw, Kraków, and Wrocław, Ukrainians make up a significant portion of the staff in the hospitality and retail sectors.
