Consequences of the Attack on a Critical Facility
As a result of the strikes, there was a complete loss of electricity supply in the city and its outskirts. Following the explosions near the plant, a significant fire erupted, engulfing the production facilities.
“It is worth noting that the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant is critically important for the enemy, as it produces castings for large-caliber artillery shells and manufactures armored steel,” the report states.
Importance of the Plant and Previous Strikes
The Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant holds strategic significance for the occupying authorities, as it manufactures components for large-caliber shells and armored steel used in military equipment. The plant plays a key role in supplying ammunition and repairing equipment for Russian troops.
It should be noted that this is not the first instance of this facility being targeted — on March 20, the plant had already been struck. Additionally, earlier, fighters from the “Phoenix” unit accurately destroyed the enemy’s mobile radio relay multi-channel communication station R-416G-MS in Luhansk region.
