Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the preparation of new Ukrainian sanctions against Russia and those who support its aggressive actions on April 10, 2025. The head of state announced this in his evening address to the nation.

Zelensky reminded that the preparation of the relevant decrees is currently underway. He noted:
“I also instructed to prepare our Ukrainian sanction packages — there is appropriate justification from the security services, these are strong packages — regarding the shadow tanker fleet that Moscow uses to finance the war, and regarding the war propagandists — those who are actually trying to weaken our defense and assist Russia, as well as regarding some officials — these are names known to all Ukrainians, they had influence.”
Furthermore, the President of Ukraine reported that work is ongoing to coordinate new sanctions measures with partners, particularly in the European Union and with other countries that have significant legal influence on the international stage.
It is worth noting that U.S. sanctions have already significantly restricted the operations of the last Russian oil business in Europe. For example, the Serbian oil company NIS, which is controlled by Russian Gazprom, has almost lost the ability to supply oil to the Serbian market due to American sanctions.
The United States also imposed sanctions on April 2 against four Russians, three companies, and one bulk carrier from Russia. At the same time, it is important to mention that the sanctions imposed on the wife of Russian billionaire Karina Rotenberg have been lifted.
