Will there be power outages on March 17: position of ‘Ukrenergo’

On Tuesday, March 17, residents of all regions of Ukraine can rest assured that there will be no power outages — there are no scheduled outages for household consumers.

Restrictions for industrial consumers

According to the company ‘Ukrenergo’, on this day, electricity will be supplied continuously to the population. At the same time, industrial enterprises across all regions will have to operate at reduced capacity during the evening hours — from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The company cites the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure as the reason for these measures.

“The reason for the restrictions is the aftermath of Russian missile and drone attacks on the energy system,” the company emphasized.

Recommendations for the public and possible changes

‘Ukrenergo’ advises Ukrainians to plan their peak electricity consumption during the day, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This will help reduce the load on the energy system during the evening hours when industry operates under restrictions.

The company also urges consumers to use electricity sparingly and to closely monitor information from local energy distribution companies, as the situation in the energy system may change. Operational updates regarding possible changes in outage schedules can be found on the official pages of regional energy companies.

It was previously reported that in Lviv region, on March 11, power outage schedules were implemented for the first time in over three weeks. The last time the region faced such restrictions was on February 18.
