Ukrainians Increased Bank Deposits by ₴1.7 Billion in a Month

As of April 1, 2025, the total amount of deposits from individuals, including individual entrepreneurs (IEs), in Ukrainian banks exceeded ₴1.392 trillion. This is ₴1.7 billion more than at the beginning of March.

According to the Deposit Guarantee Fund, of this total amount of individual deposits, deposits in hryvnias account for ₴892.8 billion, which is ₴4.8 billion less, while deposits in foreign currency amounted to ₴500 billion, increasing by ₴6.5 billion. The share of IEs among depositors is 3.2%, while in the structure of the total deposits, it constitutes 11.2%. The amount of deposits from IEs reached ₴156.6 billion.

Structure of Ukrainian Deposits

The largest share of depositors – 57.4% – has deposits of up to ₴200,000. However, in the structure of the total volume of deposits, this category represents only 28.38%. The most significant portion of all funds is provided by deposits exceeding ₴600,000, which are held by only 0.54% of Ukrainians.

Changes in Deposit Rates

It is worth noting that Ukrainian banks raised rates on hryvnia deposits in April. Overall, rates increased by 1-1.5 percentage points. The most advantageous remain deposits for 6-9 months, which on average yield 13.5-14.5% per annum.
