The Ukrainian seed sector is demonstrating confident growth even under martial law. In recent years, the export of seeds produced by Ukrainian companies has significantly increased, contributing to the attraction of foreign investments in the industry. Well-known international corporations, including Bayer, KWS, Syngenta, Corteva, Maisadour, and Remington Seeds, are actively expanding their production capacities in Ukraine, investing substantial funds in market development.

Significant Growth in Exports and Investment Attraction
Even during the full-scale war, major players remain optimistic about the prospects of Ukrainian seeds. In particular, Bayer invested 60 million euros in a new seed plant in the Zhytomyr region under challenging conditions. Such activity from international businesses confirms the sector’s attractiveness for both current and potential investors.

Export Indicators and Market Prospects
In 2023, the export of seeds grown in Ukraine increased by 50%, reaching 119.5 million US dollars. Last year, 418 seed and planting material producers were registered in the country, declaring the production of 500 thousand tons of products. The total seed production volume is estimated at 2.7 billion dollars. According to forecasts, by 2030, the export potential of the industry could grow to 600 million dollars.
Among the key advantages for investors, analysts highlight a strong scientific base, the availability of qualified personnel, favorable natural conditions, lower production costs, and geographic proximity to the European Union market.
