Ukrainian Drones Strike Oil Refinery and Terminal in Tuapse

Ukrainian security and defense forces delivered another blow to the infrastructure of the Russian seaport of Tuapse and the oil refinery located there in the Krasnodar region. The operation was carried out by drones from the Special Operations Center “Alpha” of the Security Service of Ukraine in collaboration with other defense units.

Fire at the Oil Terminal and Aftermath of the Attack

As a result of the drone strike, a massive fire of oil and fuel mixture erupted in the facility’s tanks. A thick column of black smoke rose over the maritime terminal, indicating significant destruction of the site.

“As a result of the Ukrainian drones’ strike, a fire of oil and fuel mixture occurred in the tanks. A column of black smoke is rising over the terminal.”

The oil terminal and refinery in Tuapse are of strategic importance to Russia: they are key production complexes and logistics hubs that connect oil extraction, processing, and export. The plant itself is the only oil refining complex in the Russian Federation on the Black Sea coast, capable of processing nearly 12 million tons of oil annually.

Attacks on Other Targets and Reactions

In addition to the strike on Tuapse, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported hitting another oil refinery in the Perm region, where damage to the primary oil processing unit AVT-4 has been confirmed, leading to a fire on the facility’s premises.

Ukrainian defense forces also struck a Russian Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, as well as ammunition depots and command points in other occupied areas.

The Russian military command has not confirmed damage to its military facilities, and there is currently no independent verification of the strike’s consequences.

It is worth noting that this is already the fourth attack on the oil terminal and refinery in Tuapse in recent weeks. On the night of May 1, Russian authorities reported another fire at the maritime terminal due to a drone strike.

Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion, facilities on Russian territory have increasingly become targets of aerial attacks. The Ukrainian General Staff has repeatedly emphasized that such operations aim to reduce the combat potential of the occupying forces and compel Russia to cease its aggression against Ukraine.
