Rapid Growth of Exports and Supply Geography
Exports of chicken eggs abroad in 2025 rose by 77% compared to 2024, reaching 137,500 tons. The main share of exports — 73.3% — went to European Union countries. An additional 12.7% of the product was sent to European countries outside the EU, 8% to Middle Eastern countries, 3.2% to Southeast Asia, and another 2.8% to other regions.
Moreover, last year Ukraine exported 7,800 tons of egg products, which is only 3% higher than the figure for the same period in 2024. The vast majority of this product — 95.3% — also went to EU countries.
Production and Market Structure
By the end of 2025, the total volume of egg production in Ukraine amounted to 11.434 billion pieces, which is 0.5% less than in 2024. Compared to the average result over the past five years, production decreased by 13%.
The share of industrial enterprises in total production reached 54% — 6.085 billion pieces, showing a trend towards growth. In contrast, households reduced egg production from 5.531 billion in 2024 to 5.349 billion in 2025, currently accounting for 46% of the total.
“The decline in production in households is mainly related to high feed costs, limited financial resources, and the overall economic difficulties faced by small producers.”
In March 2026, Ukrainian producers exported 216.2 million eggs worth 24 million US dollars. Compared to February 2026, this is 23% more, and compared to March 2025, it is 25% more. In the first three months of 2026, egg exports amounted to 579.5 million pieces worth 66 million US dollars.
