The United Kingdom Accelerates the Transfer of Missiles and Deploys Drone Production

In the coming months, the United Kingdom will begin serial production of Ukrainian interceptor drones, Project OCTOPUS, planning to produce around 2,000 units per month. These drones will help counter the massive attacks from Russian kamikaze drones of the “Shahed” type. Additionally, London and Kyiv are working on launching other joint high-tech projects, particularly in the field of guided bomb development.

Given the increasing intensity of Russian shelling, the United Kingdom has provided Ukraine with hundreds of LMM missiles for air defense systems five months ahead of schedule. The total amount of British military aid to Ukraine in 2025 will reach £4.5 billion. The parties have also agreed to establish a working group to coordinate projects under the LYRA program — a partnership in combat technology.

Support from the Netherlands and Germany: Funding, Ships, and Air Defense

The Netherlands has transferred a mine countermeasure vessel of the Alkmaar class to Ukraine and plans to transfer another similar ship soon. Additionally, the Dutch government has allocated €200 million to enhance Ukraine’s counter-drone capabilities and is participating in joint drone production. The total amount of aid from the Netherlands since the beginning of the full-scale invasion has exceeded $9 billion.

Ukraine and Germany have signed an agreement to support the digital transformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2026–2028, which will be financed by the German government. Furthermore, the German company Rheinmetall will supply additional Skyranger 35 air defense systems to Kyiv, with funding sourced from profits from frozen Russian assets.

“Ukraine’s allies continue to provide it with comprehensive military support, investing funds in joint production and launching new initiatives and joint projects.”

The European company Tekever also plans to involve Ukrainian startups in the development of new drone models, which will contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s technological potential. Meanwhile, a delegation of high-ranking NATO officials has arrived in Kyiv to discuss the prospects for expanding cooperation in the defense industry.
