Features of the New Coin

The new coin will be available for purchase starting July 8 in souvenir packaging. Made of nickel silver (an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc), it has a denomination of 5 UAH, a reeded edge, and a limited mintage of up to 75,000 pieces. The coin celebrates the significant contribution of the Ukrainian hexacopter Vampire, which is actively used by the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine for targeting, remote mining, and humanitarian missions. According to the NBU, over a million combat operations have been conducted using the device, confirming its reliability and effectiveness.

“Vampire is a high-precision unmanned aerial vehicle of the new generation. This Ukrainian hexacopter has proven to be a highly effective means of targeting, remote mining, and humanitarian assistance. It has been nicknamed ‘Baba Yaga’ by the enemy due to the devastating power of its strikes,” reads the description of the coin.

Design of the Coin and Purchase Conditions

The obverse of the coin features a blast-damaged surface of the earth with trenches, a destroyed and burning enemy tank, and the silhouette of the Vampire drone hovering in flight. The reverse showcases the hexacopter at the moment of dropping munitions, with a background designed as a stylized cloud with lightning bolts symbolizing the power, speed, and inevitability of the strikes from this drone. The inscription VAMPIRE is placed at the top of the reverse.

The new commemorative coin can be purchased at the online store of the numismatic products of the National Bank of Ukraine, as well as at distributing banks: Ukrgasbank, TAScombank, PrivatBank, Oschadbank, and PUMB. The sale of coins at these banks will occur gradually, as supplies arrive from the NBU’s Banknote and Minting Factory.
