The Government Expands the List of Free Medications and Medical Devices for Ukrainians

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a decision to expand the list of medical drugs and devices purchased with state budget funds. This information was made public on August 20 by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

New Medications and Medical Devices in State Procurement

The list of medications and medical devices available for free to patients has been expanded to include:

  • medications for the treatment of autoimmune diseases of the nervous system and neuromuscular disorders;
  • medical devices used for the correction of complex scoliotic deformities of the spine.

“We are expanding the list of free medications and medical devices that the state purchases,” she announced on her social media.

Improving Access to Modern Treatment

The Prime Minister noted that thanks to these innovations, thousands of Ukrainians will be able to receive quality medical care without additional financial costs. The Ministry of Health also informed that the updated list of medications and medical devices will now be centrally procured with state funds and provided to patients free of charge.

In addition, the government recently announced an increase in scholarships for students and the introduction of rewards for schoolchildren who achieve the best results on the National Multi-Subject Test.
