The government has been tasked with defining clear steps
During the meeting, Svyrydenko tasked all government members with developing detailed action plans as quickly as possible, which should contain no abstractions. She emphasized that these plans will be presented to the public, discussed with the relevant parliamentary committees, and reported on regularly.
“Each minister must define a specific action plan as quickly as possible. No abstractions”
Svyrydenko also stressed the need for a rapid pace in executing tasks and positively assessed her previous experience working with the economic committee of the Verkhovna Rada, adding that similar constructive cooperation is possible with other relevant areas.
The new government and personnel decisions
The Prime Minister noted that the new composition of the government is one of the smallest in Ukraine’s history in terms of the number of ministers. In her opinion, this reflects a desire to optimize the state apparatus.
On the same day, the parliament supported a number of personnel changes in the government proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky. In particular, former Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal was appointed head of the Ministry of Defense. On the morning of July 17, the Verkhovna Rada approved Yulia Svyrydenko as Prime Minister of Ukraine.
