The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate 300 million UAH from the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression for the restoration of housing and the completion of shelters in the Kyiv region. The funds will be used to renovate 988 apartments, which will provide housing for nearly 3,000 residents affected by the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Additionally, shelters will be equipped in four educational institutions, allowing over 1,200 children to safely attend school.

Housing Restoration in Affected Communities of Kyiv Region
The reconstruction of housing will cover cities and communities such as Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, as well as other populated areas in the Kyiv region that have suffered destruction due to hostilities. Part of the funding will be directed towards completing work on ensuring shelters in educational institutions, which is a crucial component of protecting children during air raid alerts.
Status of Multi-Unit Residential Building Restoration in Kyiv
Systematic restoration of residential buildings damaged by Russian shelling is ongoing in Kyiv. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, 3,129 buildings have been damaged in the capital, including 2,134 multi-unit residential buildings. Throughout 2025, Russian attacks led to the destruction of an additional 957 residential buildings.
The list of the most damaged multi-unit residential buildings, from which residents had to be relocated, currently includes 88 properties. Of these, 49 were affected by attacks from the Russian Federation this year. So far, 25 of these buildings have been restored, repairs are ongoing at seven properties, and the remaining properties are in the design and permitting stage.
