Investments and Innovative Approaches in Fish Farming

The farm was opened in March of this year thanks to the government grant program “eWork.” For the startup of the business, Mykhailo Malkov received 500,000 hryvnias, which were directed towards the purchase of modern equipment and the creation of optimal conditions for growing tropical fish and shrimp. This has allowed the couple to engage in a promising venture that combines innovative technologies and an ecological approach.

Prospects for the Industry and Domestic Market

The Malkovs intend to scale up production and create new jobs. The main focus is on the ecological sustainability and freshness of the products, ensuring high quality for key consumers – restaurants, fish shops, and retail chains. Thanks to the development of aquafarms, the domestic seafood market in Ukraine is steadily growing. Experts note that the shrimp business has unique prospects due to the increasing global demand for seafood and the decline in wild catch. At the same time, expanding the product range and implementing processing can enhance the profitability of such enterprises.
