Cucumber Prices Drop in Ukraine Due to Increased Supply

The Ukrainian market is experiencing another drop in cucumber prices. Analysts indicate that the main reason for this trend is the seasonal increase in supply from local producers and summer greenhouses.

Price Dynamics in the Cucumber Market

Currently, greenhouse farms are selling cucumbers at prices ranging from 35 to 65 UAH per kilogram. This is approximately 17% lower than a week ago. The beginning of summer traditionally comes with an increase in vegetable volumes in the market, which creates additional pressure on prices and stimulates competition among producers.

“At the same time, the current price of cucumbers remains higher than it was a year ago. According to market data, today greenhouse farms are selling their products on average 17% more expensive than at the beginning of June 2025.”

Southern Regions Shape Supply

A significant role in the price decrease is played by the mass influx of cucumbers from summer greenhouses in southern regions of Ukraine. Such vegetables are offered in the market at an average price of about 25 UAH per kilogram, which is significantly cheaper than the products from large greenhouse farms. The increase in supply volumes has led to intensified competition among producers, forcing many sellers to lower prices to maintain demand.

Despite the price drop, greenhouse cucumbers remain more expensive than in June of last year. Experts predict that if the volumes of seasonal products continue to rise, the trend towards cheaper prices may persist in the coming weeks.
