Orlen’s strategic interest in the Ukrainian market

Orlen is already one of the main fuel suppliers to Ukraine and aims to enhance its role in this area. According to Fonfara, the Ukrainian market is of particular importance to the Polish group, especially for the Mažeikiai oil refinery. This refinery supplies nearly 18% of its products to Ukrainian consumers, indicating a high level of cooperation between the two countries in the fuel sector.

Negotiations regarding partnership with Ukrnafta

The head of Orlen emphasized that the company has already started negotiations with the Ukrainian side regarding possible participation in Ukrnafta and is involved in the process as one of the potential partners. The final format of cooperation will be determined based on the outcomes of further negotiations.

“The nature of potential involvement, according to him, will depend on further negotiations with the Ukrainian side.”

Ukrnafta is the largest network of gas stations in Ukraine, operating nearly 700 complexes across the country. In addition to retail fuel sales, the company is engaged in oil and gas extraction, making it a key player in the country’s energy market.
