New Trams and Buses on the Capital’s Routes
On tram route No. 27, which connects the Darnytskyi, Dniprovs’kyi, and Desnians’kyi districts, two new trams are already in operation. Two more are in the depot, undergoing preparation and technical checks before they are put into service. The supply of trams is handled by LLC “TATRA-YUG” under contracts with KP “Kyivpastrans”, and the purchase was funded by the city budget. Overall, the capital expects to receive eight modern trams by the end of the year.
In addition to trams, Kyiv has received the second batch of buses — another 20 new vehicles from the Turkish company “Anadolu Isuzu”. They are already serving routes No. 20, 25, 31, 111, 112, and 114. As part of the “Urban Public Transport of Ukraine” project, implemented in collaboration with the European Investment Bank, Kyiv will receive a total of 85 such buses, of which 40 have already arrived and are in operation on the lines.
Modern Transport Features
“The new trams and buses feature 100% low floors, equipped with internal and external video surveillance cameras, air conditioning, and heating systems. The interior is fitted with energy-efficient LED lighting. There is a ramp for people with reduced mobility, an information display, and a stop announcement system.”
The equipment of the new transport meets modern standards of comfort and safety. Thanks to the low floor, ramps, and information displays, using public transport will become more convenient for people with disabilities and other groups with limited mobility. Additionally, trams and buses are equipped with air conditioning systems, heating, energy-efficient LED lighting, as well as modern video surveillance cameras both inside and outside the cabin. This will enhance safety and control during transportation.
