Knauf Launches Building Materials Production at New Plant in Ternopil Region

Німецька Knauf випустила першу партію будматеріалів на новому заводі в Тернопільській області й готується нарощувати потужність.

A new building materials production plant, built by the German company Knauf, has commenced operations in the city of Borshchiv, Ternopil region. This large-scale investment project aims to produce drywall and dry building mixtures, as well as develop production capacities in the region.

Start of Production and Expansion Plans

According to the head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Negoda, the first phase of the enterprise has already been completed. In August 2025, Knauf produced its first batch of dry building mixtures. In November, the company plans to increase production volumes to 10,000 tons. The next phase involves launching the second stage — the production of drywall.

“We have agreed with the company’s management on further cooperation for the effective development of production and support for the social sector by the business in the region,” noted the head of Ternopil after meeting with the Knauf team.

Use of Local Raw Materials and Company Experience

Knauf plans to use local raw materials for its production processes, which will contribute to the economic development of the region and the creation of new jobs. It is worth noting that this is already Knauf’s second plant in Ukraine: the first is located in Kyiv and is currently operating at full capacity. The enterprise produces about 25 million square meters of drywall and 200,000 tons of dry mixtures annually.
