Assistance for Vulnerable Populations
As reported by the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, special attention is being paid to supporting the most vulnerable residents of the city — people with disabilities, the elderly, individuals with limited mobility, as well as families with children. For this purpose, a reserve of 2000 heaters has been created in the community, which are already being distributed to residents in various districts. Additionally, in collaboration with donors, arrangements have been made for providing further assistance of this type.
District councils, together with the heads of homeowners’ associations, are compiling lists of those in need of support. City council employees are calling citizens to clarify their locations and the necessity of receiving a heater. Furthermore, any resident can contact the hotline, where their requests are reviewed, and explanations regarding the possibility of receiving assistance are provided.
Situation with Utility Services in Kherson Districts
Currently, most areas of the city have stable water, gas, and electricity supply; however, due to constant attacks from the Russian Federation, the number of emergency outages has increased. Interruptions are most frequently recorded in the Dnipro and Central districts.
At the same time, in areas such as Kindiyka, Antonivka, and the Korabel microdistrict, the situation remains the most challenging — there is no water, electricity, or gas supply.
“A reserve of 2000 heaters has been created in the community, which are already being distributed to residents in various districts. Additionally, arrangements have been made with donors for further assistance of this type,” the message states.
According to local authorities, the city’s combined heat and power plant stopped operating due to severe damage caused by shelling. Despite protective measures, the buildings and equipment of the station have suffered significant destruction. The city authorities continue to take measures to support residents in these difficult conditions.
