JYSK Store in Zaporizhzhia Affected by Drone and Guided Bomb Attack: Damage Assessment

On January 2, 2026, the JYSK store in Zaporizhzhia became a target of an enemy attack: the building was struck by drones and guided aerial bombs (GAB). As a result of the shelling, the roof was damaged, a fire broke out, and a significant portion of the goods and equipment was destroyed. Fortunately, none of the store’s employees were harmed.

Damage Assessment and Prospects for Resuming Operations

According to Yevhen Ivanytsia, the executive director of JYSK’s Ukrainian office, the company is currently assessing the extent of the damage and determining the timeline needed to restore the store’s operations.

“We are currently evaluating the scale of the damage and the time required for recovery,” Ivanytsia noted.

Preliminarily, the chain plans to reopen the store in Zaporizhzhia this winter, after the completion of restoration works.
