The large-scale air attack carried out by Russia against the Odesa region on the night of December 12 to 13 cost the aggressor country over 109 million US dollars. This is just the cost of the missiles and drones used, not including additional expenses for logistics and launch systems.

Cost of the Weapons Involved in the Strike
According to the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, for this attack, the Russian Federation used 16 Kalibr cruise missiles worth about 32 million dollars, 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles (nearly 10 million dollars), 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (15 million dollars), 4 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (approximately 40 million dollars), and over 300 Shahed-136 drones (12.16 million dollars). The total cost of this weaponry amounted to 109.2 million dollars.
The Social Cost for Russia
The Southern Defense Forces note that the funds allocated for the strike could have been directed towards addressing urgent social issues within Russia itself. With that money, 4–5 new district hospitals could be built, about a thousand MRI/CT machines could be purchased, which are lacking in many regions of the country, or clean drinking water could be provided to hundreds of thousands of residents who have suffered for years due to contaminated water supply systems.
Moreover, the sum of over 109 million dollars would allow for the construction of 40–50 new schools instead of the emergency buildings where Russian children currently study. The military emphasizes that by choosing war, the Kremlin deprives its own population of a decent future, instead investing resources in destruction.
“Russia burned more than 109,200,000 dollars in just one night (December 12-13), attacking the Odesa region. This is not just a number. It is a verdict,” emphasize the Ukrainian military.
In conclusion, while hospitals are closing in Russian regions, people are left without access to clean water, and schools are falling into disrepair, the aggressor state continues to direct vast financial resources towards waging war.
