In December 2025, Ukraine significantly increased its electricity imports, reaching a record volume of 640 thousand MWh. This is 53% more than in November, when the country imported 415 thousand MWh. During this period, there were no electricity exports from Ukraine.

Main Sources of Electricity Imports
The largest supplies of electricity to Ukraine came from Hungary, which accounted for 41% of the total import volume. Slovakia’s share in December was 21%. At the same time, imports from Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland increased, while supplies from Moldova decreased by 25%.
Notably, there was a significant increase in imports from Poland: in December, electricity imports from Poland rose by 85%, reaching 114 thousand MWh.
Overall Indicators and Trends for 2025
By the end of 2025, Ukraine imported 3.3 million MWh of electricity, which is 24% less compared to 2024. The main reason for this decline was changes in electricity demand and a reduction in exports. It is worth noting that electricity exports from Ukraine were completely suspended as of November 11, 2025.
