Main Rules for Military Payments in 2025

According to current legislation, military personnel can receive a one-time financial assistance of up to 50% of their monthly salary for each year of service. Those entitled to such payments include:

  • officers, warrant officers, sergeants, privates, and other individuals who are eligible for a pension and are discharged due to health reasons;
  • former police officers who served in the internal affairs bodies, have at least five years of service, were discharged before November 7, 2015, and subsequently returned to work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the National Police in civil service positions, or worked in medical, educational, or research institutions.

For individuals discharged due to age, staff reductions, contract completion, organizational reasons, non-fulfillment of contract conditions by the command, or due to subordination to a close relative, such assistance is provided only if they have at least 10 years of service.

This also applies to female military personnel who have a child or children under 16 years old and do not plan to continue their service.

Reduced Amounts of Assistance and Grounds for Denial

Some categories of military personnel may expect a one-time payment of 25% of their monthly salary for each full year of service. Such payments are provided for those with at least 10 years of service who are discharged:

  • at their own request;
  • due to family circumstances;
  • for other valid reasons.

The payment may amount to 25-50% of the monthly salary for each year of service.

At the same time, payments may be denied to those military personnel who were discharged for service non-compliance, non-fulfillment of contract conditions, or in the case of a guilty verdict by a court for administrative offenses related to corruption.
