Changes in Military Salaries: What to Expect from June 1, 2025

From June 1, 2025, the salaries of Ukrainian military personnel will remain at the current level. According to existing legislation, specifically the Law on the Social and Legal Protection of Military Personnel and Their Families and Cabinet Resolution No. 168, no changes in the amount of compensation are planned unless there is a revision of the budget for the current year.

Amount of Additional Payments

Military personnel receive additional monetary payments depending on the tasks performed:

  • 30,000 UAH for those conducting combat (special) missions in the context of ensuring the defense of Ukraine;
  • 50,000 UAH for military personnel performing similar tasks as part of military command bodies;
  • 100,000 UAH for military personnel in active combat zones or undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.

Additionally, there are allowances for those who have been captured, and 70,000 UAH for military personnel on the front lines.

Total Salary and Privileges for Contract Soldiers

The total salary of military personnel can range from 20,000 to 190,000 UAH per month. The highest payments are received by those serving on the front lines. The length of service allowance starts at 5% for the first year of service and can reach 50% after 25 years or more. Military personnel also receive an allowance for the specifics of service amounting to 65% of the basic payments.

Contract soldiers signing their first contract can receive a one-time additional payment: enlisted personnel — 24,224 UAH, sergeants and petty officers — 27,252 UAH, officers — 30,280 UAH.

Starting from March 2025, cadets in the first two years will receive no less than 8,000 UAH, while cadets in the third and fourth years will receive over 20,000 UAH per month. This is aimed at increasing motivation and the prestige of military service.
