Industrial Production in Ukraine Decreased by 6.1% in 2025

According to data from the State Statistics Service, the industrial production index in Ukraine decreased by 6.1% in the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Alongside this, the metalworking industry shows positive dynamics: production in metallurgy and the manufacturing of finished metal products increased by 9.5%. However, the extraction of metal ores experienced a decline of 4%.

Decline in Production in the Extractive Sector

Overall, there is a decrease of 6.1% in the extractive and processing industries. Specifically, in the extractive industry and quarrying, the decline is 15%, while in the processing industry it is 2.1%.

Electricity and Gas

Supplies of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning decreased by 6.3%. Electricity production fell by 7.8%, and its distribution decreased by 6.8%.

It is worth noting that in April 2025, industrial production increased by 9.2% compared to March; however, compared to April of last year, there is a decline of 6.4%. In metallurgy and the production of finished metal products, production increased by 10.1% compared to March and by 4.6% compared to April of the previous year. At the same time, the extraction of metal ores recorded an increase of 2.9% from March, but a decrease of 2.2% compared to April 2024.
