At the beginning of September 2025, Ukraine recorded a sharp rise in prices for beef and veal. According to statistics from the “Capital Market,” various types of meat products significantly increased in price within the first two days of the month.

Beef Prices: Growth Dynamics
In particular, minced beef rose by 8.7%: if on September 1 its average price was 230 UAH per kilogram, by September 3 it reached 250 UAH/kg. During this period, goulash also increased by 20 UAH and now costs an average of 250 UAH/kg, which is 8.3% more.
Among other types of beef, price increases were also noted in the following categories:
- Neck – an increase of 5.8%, to 275 UAH/kg;
- Shoulder – by 3.2%, to 325 UAH/kg;
- Rib – by 2.9%, to 180 UAH/kg;
- Steak – by 2.3%, to 450 UAH/kg;
- Rear – by 2.8%, to 365 UAH/kg.
The cost of tenderloin is stabilizing within the range of 850-870 UAH per kilogram, which is 2.38% more expensive than at the end of August.
Price Increase for Veal and the Situation with Other Types of Meat
Prices for veal, especially for minced veal, have risen particularly quickly: it has increased by 13% and now costs 260 UAH/kg (30 UAH more). Price increases have also been recorded for:
- Brisket – by 5.9%, to 180 UAH/kg;
- Chop – by 3.3%, to 475 UAH/kg;
- Shoulder – by 4.4%, to 355 UAH/kg;
- Tenderloin – by 2.3%, to 870 UAH/kg;
- Neck – by 3.6%, to 290 UAH/kg.
In contrast to beef and veal, prices for other types of meat have remained stable since August 20. The average prices for pork are: neck – 370 UAH/kg, shoulder – 220 UAH/kg, steak – 270 UAH/kg, minced meat – 170 UAH/kg. Lamb shoulder costs 275–285 UAH/kg, while chop is 450 UAH/kg.
Turkey can be purchased at prices ranging from 117 to 275 UAH/kg depending on the cut, while chicken remains the most affordable type of meat: the highest price for chicken fillet averages 185 UAH/kg.
According to the Minfin portal, in August, beef prices increased by approximately 14% compared to the previous month. Pork, according to their data, rose in price by an average of 5.9% during the same period. Chicken prices changed little, increasing by only 0.5%.
