In October 2025, Kuala Lumpur will host the anniversary tenth HiveFest festival, bringing together the international Hive blockchain community. The event will run from October 15 to 19, returning to Asia for the first time in recent years after the pandemic. The organizers have prepared a five-day program that combines professional events with a rich cultural component.

The Decade of HiveFest and the New Format of the Event
HiveFest originated from the SteemFest conferences, and after the launch of the Hive blockchain in 2020, it adopted a new name and expanded its reach. Over the years, festivals have taken place in various countries across Europe and both Americas, and during the COVID-19 years, they were held in a VR format. The resumption of offline meetings in 2022 marked a new stage in the community’s development. The organizers emphasize that the tenth anniversary highlights the unity and dynamic growth of the ecosystem.
“Since the first informal meetup, the number of participants has significantly increased, and now HiveFest has transformed into a large-scale festival of ideas, technologies, and decentralized projects,” the organizers highlighted.
Event Program and Opportunities for Participants
The forum in 2025 will be thematically titled Tropical Surge. Guests can look forward to city tours, an introduction to Malaysian culture, and a modern view of Kuala Lumpur. This will be the first HiveFest in the region since Bangkok 2019, aimed at attracting a new audience from Asia.
The main program will last two days – October 16 and 17. Participants will be able to attend presentations, panel discussions, and workshops dedicated to the Hive ecosystem and Web3. Developers, content creators, and entrepreneurs implementing their own dApps on the Hive platform will be speaking. Separate workshops on the development and implementation of blockchain applications are also planned.
In addition to the official part, the program includes:
- a welcome evening;
- city tours;
- Hive Expo exhibition;
- a gala dinner and other informal events.
This format allows for a combination of learning and networking in a friendly atmosphere, fostering the exchange of experiences among participants of varying skill levels.
Registration for HiveFest 2025 is already open – tickets are available for payment in HIVE and HBD tokens without additional fees. Thanks to funding from Hive DAO and partners, the cost of participation is partially subsidized. Several ticket categories are available, including basic and supporting, to make the event accessible even for newcomers.
The main hotel for participants is the Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel in the Bukit Bintang area, where group discounts will apply. The organizers reported that many guests plan to combine attending the conference with traveling in the region.
