The second most important seaport in Russia on the Baltic Sea, Ust-Luga, has been the target of a large-scale drone attack. The port is a strategic point for the export of crude oil and petroleum products from Russia. This was reported on the morning of March 25 by the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko.

Series of Attacks on Russian Energy Facilities
This is already the second drone attack on Russian ports in the Baltic Sea this week. On March 23, the Primorsk port was hit, where Ukrainian drones damaged several tanks containing petroleum products. As of the morning of March 25, there has been no official information regarding the complete extinguishing of the fire in Primorsk.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, various strategic facilities on its territory have regularly become targets of air strikes. In 2024-2025, oil refineries and facilities in the occupied territories of Ukraine were particularly frequently attacked.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has repeatedly confirmed the conduct of such operations. Statements emphasize that such actions are aimed at weakening the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces and forcing Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia and former Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu acknowledged on March 17 that due to the development of Ukrainian drone technologies, no region of the Russian Federation can feel safe from attacks.
