Consequences of the Night Drone Attack

According to representatives of the occupying administration, the smoke is related to the “burning off of fuel residues.” In addition to the oil depot itself, explosions and falling debris have damaged residential buildings and infrastructure in various areas of the city. In particular, the building of Sevastopol State University was affected, with several windows shattered, and debris from downed drones was recorded on the premises.

“In the building of Sevastopol State University, several windows were shattered, and debris from downed UAVs was recorded on the premises. In four apartment buildings in the center and in the Inkerman area, four windows were damaged due to falling debris from downed UAVs, and one resident’s kitchen was affected.”

Damage in Residential Areas and Response from the Occupying Authorities

Several gardening associations report damage to private homes and falling debris. The occupying authorities claim that during the night, Russian military allegedly destroyed 22 drones over Sevastopol and in the waters of the Black Sea, but the total number of launched drones has not been disclosed.

It is known that on the night of April 18, a series of explosions were heard in the city, air defense systems were activated, and the alarm lasted for about two hours. Local monitoring resources reported a threat of drone attacks and confirmed the outbreak of fire at the oil depot.

It is worth noting that since 2022, the occupied Crimean Peninsula has been subjected to drone and missile attacks almost daily. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense and other official structures of the Russian Federation often do not acknowledge hits on military targets, even when this information is confirmed by independent sources.
