Underground Vodka Production Discovered in Kyiv and Zhytomyr Regions

In the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, law enforcement officials uncovered an underground production of alcoholic beverages, particularly vodka. The illegally manufactured products were sold both in retail and in bulk.

This information was revealed in a statement from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BEB). It was noted that the organizers of the production purchased not only equipment but also raw materials for vodka production.

“The Bureau of Economic Security in Kyiv region has halted the underground production of alcoholic beverages. … The estimated value of the seized goods is over 1.5 million UAH,” the statement reads.

As part of the case, law enforcement conducted searches at the locations of the illegal production and at the premises of the individuals involved. Searches were also carried out in their vehicles and residences.

During these investigative actions, rough notes, computer equipment, financial documentation, flash drives, vehicles, mixing and bottling equipment, raw materials for production, as well as finished alcoholic products packaged in containers of various sizes were seized.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Bureau of Economic Security is identifying all individuals involved in this illegal activity.
