Ukrzaliznytsia expands the network of women’s carriages: new routes from May 1

“Ukrzaliznytsia” continues to actively implement the format of women’s compartments, which has already gained wide popularity among passengers. The consistently high demand for this service encourages the carrier to expand the geography of routes and add new directions for the convenience of women and children.

Demand for women’s carriages and passenger satisfaction level

Women’s carriages demonstrate one of the highest occupancy rates in the passenger transport system – on average over 92%, and during certain periods, demand even exceeds available offers. Passengers highly appreciate this service: the satisfaction index (NPS) remains at around 87%. Thus, the format has become an integral part of the service model of “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

New routes and the existing network of women’s carriages

Starting from May 1, women’s carriages will appear on three new popular routes:

  • Kharkiv — Odesa;
  • Lviv — Odesa;
  • Lviv — Kyiv.

These directions will complement the already existing network, strengthening transport connections between the largest cities in the country.

Currently, the women’s compartment service covers a significant part of Ukraine and key passenger routes, including:

  • Kharkiv — Vorokhta / Yasinia / Uzhhorod,
  • Zaporizhzhia — Uzhhorod / Yasinia,
  • Odesa — Yasinia,
  • Kyiv — Uzhhorod / Zaporizhzhia / Kryvyi Rih / Rakhiv,
  • Lviv — Kharkiv,
  • Dnipro — Truskavets,
  • Cherkasy — Ivano-Frankivsk,
  • Kovel — Kyiv.

Conditions for using women’s compartments

Women’s carriages are standard compartment carriages, in which seats are provided exclusively for women and children. The service includes:

  • separate access for women and children;
  • usual level of comfort;
  • absence of any additional surcharge.

Due to stable popularity, women’s compartments have already become a full-fledged part of the passenger transport system of “Ukrzaliznytsia”. The expansion of the network indicates that this format is a response to the current needs of society and changes in passenger demands.
