Announcement of Ceasefire and Its Violations

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the implementation of a “silence regime” that was set to begin at midnight on May 6. However, this regime was almost immediately violated by Russia, which did not respond to the Ukrainian initiative for a ceasefire. Subsequently, both sides announced a ceasefire from May 9 to May 11, although they repeatedly reported violations of the agreements.
