Ukrainian family denied border crossing due to lack of car insurance

A Ukrainian couple was unable to cross the state border and was forced to return home after a long trip due to one unfortunate mistake. Despite having all the necessary documents for departure, including an official deferment from mobilization and a certificate of no child support arrears, the couple could not leave the country.

Inattention disrupted the couple’s plans

Blogger Alla Nimashchuk, who shared the incident on her Instagram, explained that she and her husband had carefully prepared for the trip. They gathered all the necessary papers and woke up at 5:30 AM to make it to the checkpoint. According to her, this was their first attempt to travel abroad together in five years, and they had high hopes for this journey.

Lack of international insurance policy led to denial

The couple faced denial at the border because they forgot to arrange an international insurance policy for their car. The absence of this document became the main obstacle to crossing the state border. After five hours on the road, they were forced to turn back home, feeling considerable disappointment.

“We were not allowed at the border. I just have no words. We wasted 5 hours on the road, woke up at 5:30 AM. You would never guess the stupid reason we were denied, the dumbest. We didn’t get car insurance” — Alla emotionally shared.

Despite their thorough preparation for the trip, the couple accidentally overlooked one important detail — obtaining car insurance, which is mandatory for crossing the border in their own vehicle. This case once again highlights the importance of carefully checking all documents before traveling abroad.
