Ukrainian Assistance: Without Compromising Own Security
Zelensky emphasized that helping other countries will not weaken Ukraine’s own defense capabilities. According to the head of state, Ukrainian military personnel have the necessary experience and resources to carry out such tasks. Currently, teams of experts are already discussing the details of future cooperation.
“Our military possesses the necessary capabilities. Ukrainian experts will work on-site, and teams are already coordinating this. We are ready to help protect lives, safeguard civilians, and support real efforts to stabilize the situation and restore, in particular, safe navigation in the region.”
Diplomatic Negotiations and Escalation in the Middle East
The President reported that Ukraine is conducting consultations not only with European and American partners but also with countries neighboring Iran. In particular, Zelensky has held talks with leaders from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, discussing ways to enhance security in the region.
The situation in the Middle East escalated after a joint operation by the United States and Israel on February 28, which resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as a large number of high-ranking officials from the Iranian regime. In response, Iranian military forces carried out missile and drone strikes not only against Israel and American facilities but also against several other countries in the region that Tehran considers allies of the United States.
As a result of these attacks, six U.S. servicemen and civilians from various countries were killed. According to the human rights organization HRANA, from February 28 to March 3, 1097 civilian deaths and 5402 injuries, including among children, were documented in Iran. Additionally, destruction of military bases, medical facilities, and residential areas has been recorded across the country.
